Product Description: An AI-enhanced defect management system. The AI system analyses issues as they are submitted and automatically links them to existing open or closed issues. It also tracks the types of issues coming in and automatically highlights trends and forecasts based on release frequency, and defect life-cycle duration. Similar to JIRA it handles bug tracking with custom workflows and fields, and integrates into TestRail and qTest.

How can I do this correctly?
  • Create a defect: choose project → select issue type (Bug/Regression/Flake) → fill required fields (summary, steps, expected/actual, environment, version/build, severity) → attach evidence (screenshots, logs, HAR) → Save.
  • Let AI assist: pre-submit validation (duplicates, missing steps), auto-link to suspected dupes & related closed issues, suggest components/labels, predict severity/priority, and propose owner based on code ownership & blame data.
  • Triage: confirm repro, refine fields (root cause, affected modules), accept/adjust AI links, set priority via the team’s priority matrix, and add a fix version.
  • Workflow: move through states (New → Triage → In Progress → Code Review → QA Verify → Done) or your custom flow; always add a comment & rationale on transitions.
  • Quality loop: link to failing tests (TestRail/qTest), link commits/PRs, and require resolution code (Fixed, Won’t Fix, Duplicate, As Designed) at closure.
  • Vague titles (“App broken”), missing repro or environment, no evidence.
  • Setting priority = severity (they’re separate); skipping the priority matrix.
  • Ignoring AI-flagged duplicates and creating parallel bugs.
  • Closing without fix version or resolution code; bulk changing fields owned by external integrations (e.g., overwriting TestRail status).
  • Assigning outside component ownership or bypassing approvals in custom workflows.
